On September 13, 2024, the Nigeria Community Action for Resilience and Economic Stimulus (NG-CARES) Programme pledged its support for flood victims nationwide. Abdulkarim Obaje, the National Coordinator, made this announcement during the North-East Zone’s two-day Peer Learning and Experience Sharing Event in Bauchi.
Obaje emphasized that economic and environmental shocks, such as floods, have severe impacts on vulnerable communities. He highlighted that NG-CARES, supported by the World Bank, has broadened its scope beyond COVID-19 to address flood-related issues.
