The Nigerian Army has announced that 43 soldiers deployed to Borno State for anti-terrorism operations against Boko Haram are now considered AWOL. These soldiers, assigned from various units to the 403 Amphibious Brigade in Baga, were required to report by October 31, 2024, but failed to return.
According to a statement signed by Major HO Akoh, the soldiers’ bank accounts have been frozen, and Army formations nationwide are on alert to apprehend the missing personnel. The Army has issued instructions for any of these soldiers found within other military zones to be escorted back for disciplinary action.
