ABUJA – Nigeria’s First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, has called for significant educational reforms to drive Africa’s development, emphasizing the need for the continent to leverage its resources by focusing on youth education.
In a recent meeting with the Burundian Ambassador to Nigeria, Edouard Nduwimana, at the State House in Abuja, Senator Tinubu highlighted that Africa’s future hinges on looking inward for solutions and strengthening intra-continental bonds. She stressed that Africa must no longer take its natural resources for granted and called for enhanced efforts to educate and empower young people.
“Education is the key to development,” said Senator Tinubu. “We must ensure our youth are well-educated to have a competitive edge in the global market. By leading by example and doing what is right, we can inspire our youth to contribute to building a better future.”
She lamented the misuse of the continent’s abundant blessings and urged African leaders to work collaboratively towards meaningful development. “Africa is richly endowed and should not waste its opportunities. We need to embrace our blessings and focus on proper development strategies,” she added.
The Burundian Ambassador, through an interpreter, expressed gratitude for the First Lady’s commitment to education, acknowledging the recent strides Burundi has made towards peace and progress despite past crises.
