Kachalla Ibrahim Gurgun Daji, a notorious bandit leader involved in violent criminal activities across Zamfara State, was killed in Kwanar Nasiru, east of Mada town, Gusau Local Government Area, on Sunday. According to reliable sources, Daji was killed by a rival faction, and his body was left at the scene.
The Guardian confirmed the incident, with security expert Zagazola Makama noting Daji’s extensive criminal operations, including orchestrating violent attacks along the Kwatarkwashi-Mada road. Daji was infamous for purchasing kidnapped victims in Gusau and harboring other criminals, including Bello Taggoje, at his residence in Shangel village, east of Mada.
Daji’s death is seen as a major breakthrough in the fight against banditry in Zamfara State. He was regarded as a key figure within the region’s network of armed criminals, leading a large group of followers involved in banditry and terror activities.
