The General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Pastor E.A. Adeboye, has appointed Professor Toyin Ogundipe, the former Vice-Chancellor of the University of Lagos (UNILAG), as the new Chairman and Pro-Chancellor of Redeemer’s University, located in Ede, Osun State.

This appointment was confirmed on Monday through a statement by the university’s public relations officer, Adetunji Adeleye, in Osogbo, the capital of Osun State. Professor Ogundipe replaces Pastor Ezekiel Odeyemi, the Assistant General Overseer of Training and Education at RCCG, who previously held the position.

Professor Ogundipe will lead the reconstituted Governing Council of Redeemer’s University, alongside other esteemed members, including:

  • Professor Shadrach Olufemi Akindele, Vice-Chancellor
  • Professor Ahmed Parker Yerima, Deputy Vice-Chancellor
  • Professor Olalere Gabriel Adeyemi, representing the University Senate
  • Professor Christian Happi, representing the University Senate
  • Professor Idowu Odebode, representing the University Congregation
  • Professor Emmanuel Ajav, representing RCCG
  • Pastor (Mrs.) Tomi Somefun, representing RCCG
  • Pastor Sola Olukoya, representing RCCG
  • Dr. Olaniyi Salau, Legal Practitioner, representing RCCG
  • Mr. Tobi Aniyi, representing the Redeemer’s University Alumni
  • Mrs. Funmilayo Olusola Kolade, representing the National Universities Commission
  • Mrs. Mojisola Oje, Registrar and Secretary to the Council

Professor Ogundipe’s vast experience in academia and university leadership is expected to bring continued growth and development to Redeemer’s University.
