The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has stated that there is currently no substantial evidence of anti-party activities against Nyesom Wike, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), that would justify disciplinary action.
Ibrahim Abdullahi, the Deputy National Publicity Secretary of the PDP, mentioned in an interview with Arise TV that Wike has consistently affirmed his membership and loyalty to the party. He emphasized that until concrete evidence is presented, Wike will be allowed to maintain his status within the party.
Abdullahi also mentioned that the PDP’s Disciplinary Committee, led by Chief Tom Ikimi, will invite the former Rivers State governor for questioning. He assured that the committee will conduct a transparent and fair investigation, with the National Working Committee (NWC) committed to following through on the committee’s recommendations.
“There will be no sacred cows,” Abdullahi stated, emphasizing that any party members found guilty of anti-party activities by the committee will face appropriate sanctions from the NWC. He further added that the committee, which was recently reconstituted, will play a key role in addressing the current issues within the party and ensuring accountability.
