Former Anambra State governor, Peter Obi, has expressed his condolences to the families of those who lost their lives in a tragic accident at the Oye-Agu Abagana Market in Njikoka Local Government Area, Anambra State.
The accident, which occurred on Wednesday, involved a Toyota Sienna that lost control and crashed into the busy market, resulting in the deaths of three people, including a child, and leaving several others injured. Many traders suffered severe injuries, and goods were also destroyed.
In his message shared on Thursday via his X handle, Obi, the 2023 Labour Party presidential candidate, urged the Federal Road Safety Commission (FRSC) to strengthen the enforcement of road safety measures to prevent similar tragedies.
“I am deeply saddened by the fatal accident in the Abagana community that claimed lives and left others injured. I urge the FRSC to continue to uphold road safety regulations to prevent such incidents. My heartfelt condolences go out to the families who lost loved ones, and I wish the injured a speedy recovery,” Obi stated.
