The President of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), Joe Ajaero, and Secretary General, Emmanuel Ugboaja, have been summoned again by the Nigeria Police Force following a prior invitation. Initially called in over accusations of “criminal conspiracy, terrorism financing, treasonable felony, subversion, and cybercrime,” the new invitation involves further investigations into charges of “criminal intimidation, malicious damage to property, and conduct likely to cause a breach of public peace.”

The police, through a letter dated August 28, 2024, requested their presence at the Force Intelligence Department in Abuja. Ajaero, accompanied by the NLC counsel, Femi Falana, honored the initial invitation but reiterated that the NLC remains committed to its patriotic duties despite these challenges.
