Nigerian comedienne Anita Afoke Asuoha, popularly known as Real Warri Pikin, opened up about how a motivational speaker’s influence almost led her to attempt suicide. She shared the emotional experience on Instagram in honor of World Suicide Prevention Day.
Asuoha recounted that in 2018, her husband accumulated ₦22 million in debt after following a motivational speaker’s advice to pursue multiple business ventures in search of financial success. The failed ventures left the couple in financial distress, and by June 2018, Asuoha was overwhelmed by the burden and attempted suicide.
In her heartfelt post, she revealed how a family member arrived just in time to stop her from ending her life. Asuoha encouraged her followers never to see suicide as an option, emphasizing that life is full of ups and downs and urging them to seek strength in God during difficult times.
“Suicide is making a permanent decision to a temporary problem,” she advised, urging her followers to hold on through challenging phases of life.
