The Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND) announced on Friday that it has received a N2 million repayment from Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN) Adegboyega Awomolo, a former beneficiary of the Federal Government Student Loan Scheme from the 1970s. Awomolo, who used the loan to complete his law degree at the University of Ife (now Obafemi Awolowo University), expressed gratitude for the support and commended NELFUND for its transparency in managing student loans.
This follows a recent N3.2 million repayment by former lawmaker Lanre Laoshe, with the recovered funds being redirected to support current students in need of financial aid.
