Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has shared an optimistic message ahead of Nigeria’s 64th Independence Day, assuring citizens that despite current challenges, there is a plan to stabilize the economy and improve quality of life.
During a special prayer session held at the Lagos State Secretariat Community Central Mosque in Ikeja, Sanwo-Olu addressed the growing dissatisfaction caused by economic difficulties and protests, emphasizing that Nigerians must not lose hope.
“We cannot be hopeless. We must be hopeful because there is a plan. The plan is to sustain the economic stability of the country,” Sanwo-Olu stated, adding that efforts are being made to build essential infrastructure, including schools and hospitals, which will help navigate through the current crisis.
The governor also urged Nigerians to focus on facts and positive discourse to strengthen nation-building, while also expressing concern over the erosion of traditional family values. He called on parents to prioritize child-rearing and urged religious leaders to focus on repairing fractured family bonds through their teachings.
As the country prepares to celebrate its 64th Independence Anniversary, Sanwo-Olu encouraged Nigerians to remain united, highlighting the need to rebuild communities and stay committed to the nation’s growth.
