Sonia Adesuwa, the estranged wife of former Nigerian footballer Odion Ighalo, took to Instagram on September 17, 2024, to share a heartfelt message addressing her ex-husband. In her emotional post, Sonia expressed regret for the negative effects of her previous statements and acknowledged the emotional pain the footballer, who has been separated from her since 2022, has endured.
She praised Ighalo for his dedication to being a caring father despite the challenges that arose after their separation and divorce. Sonia also expressed her desire for them to co-parent their three children harmoniously and emphasized her continued support for Ighalo both spiritually and physically.
In her message, she wrote: “We’ve both forgiven each other and realized our mistakes. If I could wish anything, it would be for divine grace and strength from God to help us co-parent harmoniously and ensure our children feel a sense of pride in us. I wish you all the best.”
Odion Ighalo, currently playing for Saudi Pro League club Al-Wehda, is reportedly earning £200,000 per week.
