The Speaker of the House of Representatives, Tajudeen Abbas, has strongly condemned the recent raid on a hospital in Birnin Gwari Local Government Area, Kaduna State, where gunmen abducted workers and patients. The attack, which occurred at the Primary Healthcare Centre in Layin Dan Auta village, resulted in the kidnapping of two nurses and an unspecified number of patients.
In a statement released on Tuesday by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Musa Krishi, Abbas urged security agencies to act swiftly to rescue those held captive. “The rise in banditry, particularly the targeting of vulnerable locations like hospitals, is unacceptable. Our security forces must prioritize the immediate rescue of those abducted and work tirelessly to ensure that no Nigerian remains in captivity,” the statement emphasized.
Abbas further called for ongoing efforts to eliminate the threats of kidnapping, banditry, and terrorism throughout Nigeria.
