Nollywood actress Tonto Dikeh has refuted rumors that she was arrested by the Nigerian Police Force. Earlier reports suggested that Tonto was invited by the police in connection with an investigation into criminal defamation, cyberbullying, and forgery.
In a statement on her Instagram page, Tonto clarified that she was neither arrested nor detained, and no search or arrest warrant was issued against her. She urged those spreading the rumors to stop, emphasizing her status as a law-abiding citizen.
Tonto stated, “I was not arrested, neither was I detained by the police or any law enforcement agency of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. I am in my house enjoying the goodness of God.”
She further noted that as a member of the diplomatic society, she upholds a higher duty to abide by the law and would never engage in criminal activities.
