Abdulahi Isah, also known as Biodun, has been stripped of his title, Wakilin Matasan Bosso, by the District Head of Bosso in Minna Emirate Council, Niger State, Alhaji Mu’azu Adamu Laka Bosso.
According to a report by Daily Trust, Biodun was dismissed for his support of the planned nationwide protests. The decision was formalized in a letter titled “Letter of Dismissal,” which stated: “I hereby write to inform you that you have been dismissed from your title as Youth Leader of Bosso (Wakilin Matasan Bosso) with immediate effect from 28/07/2024. You should no longer call yourself Youth Leader of Bosso.”
In an interview on the Hausa program Tsalle Daya on Prestige, the district head explained that the dismissal was due to Biodun’s support for the upcoming protests against hardship, emphasizing that his domain would not tolerate any actions that could lead to a breakdown of law and order.
Tragic Incident in Taraba: Traditional Ruler and Son Killed by Gunmen
In a separate tragic event in Taraba State, the third-class chief of Chanchanji, Alhaji Tanimu Kunbiya, and his son, Yusuf Kunbiya, were killed by unidentified gunmen on Friday evening. The attack occurred on the Takum-Chanchanji road as the monarch was returning from a burial ceremony.
This incident has caused significant tension and unrest in the area. It follows the recent killings of the village head of Usmanu in Karim-Lamido local government area, Alhaji Auwal Abubakar, and his younger brother by gunmen.
The state police spokesperson, Gambo Kwache, confirmed the killings and stated that additional security forces have been deployed to the area to restore peace and order. The Tiv Cultural and Social Association, through its President General, Chief James Baka, condemned the murders and urged the government and security agencies to bring the perpetrators to justice while calling on the community to remain calm.
