UEFA has announced a significant reduction in the maximum prices that clubs can charge for away tickets in Europe’s three men’s club competitions this season. The new caps are set at 60 euros for Champions League matches, 40 euros for Europa League games, and 20 euros for the Conference League. These price caps apply exclusively to visiting fans.
Starting next season, the maximum price for away tickets in the Champions League will be further reduced to 50 euros, and in the Europa League to 35 euros. This initiative is part of UEFA’s ongoing effort to enhance the matchday experience and make football more inclusive, acknowledging the dedication of traveling supporters.
This is not the first time UEFA has implemented price caps. In the 2019-2020 season, the maximum prices were 70 euros for the Champions League and 45 euros for the Europa League. These changes were driven by previous fan protests against high away ticket prices.
UEFA President Aleksander Ceferin highlighted that these measures are another important step in making football more fan-friendly, ensuring that the contributions of traveling supporters are both valued and recognized.
