Nollywood actress Lizzy Anjorin has vehemently denied recent theft allegations, asserting that it is inconceivable for someone of her status to steal gold worth ₦91,000. The controversy stems from a social media report alleging that Anjorin stole a gram of gold valued at ₦91,000 from Idumota market in Lagos.
In a podcast appearance, Anjorin dismissed the claims, suggesting that the value of the alleged stolen gold is negligible compared to her high-end fashion business. She argued that the gold in question is worth far less than a gram, which is comparable to a grain of rice, and emphasized her involvement in selling high-value jewelry and fashion items.
Anjorin explained, “We’re talking about N91,000 gold when a gram was around N150,000. A gram of gold is minuscule; how could I possibly steal something so insignificant? I deal in high-quality gold and diamonds, and my fashion choices reflect that. I sell large quantities of top-tier jewelry, not petty theft.”
She concluded, “It’s absurd to think I would steal a gram of gold. I am not a thief; I pride myself on being disciplined and straightforward.”
