Former Deputy Speaker of the Kwara State House of Assembly, Christopher Tunji Ayeni, widely known as CT Ayeni, tragically lost his life in a road accident early Thursday. The accident occurred near Ajase-Ipo in the Irepodun Local Government Area of Kwara State while Ayeni was en route to Ilorin in his Hilux vehicle, accompanied by an unidentified passenger.
A prominent political figure, Ayeni was a recent House of Representatives candidate for the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in 2023 before joining the All Progressives Congress (APC). He was also the respected Akogun of Isapa Land in Ekiti Local Government Area. His passing has deeply affected the state, with many expressing condolences for the respected leader.
In related news, veteran Nollywood actor Abdulsalam Sanyaolu, affectionately known as Charles Olumo or Agbako, has also passed away at the age of 102. His colleague, Jide Kosoko, confirmed Agbako’s passing via Instagram, though the cause was not disclosed.
